Senior Coach

I started calisthenics as a Sub-Junior at 6 years old at Plympton-Halifax Calisthenics Club. In my years at this Club, I have achieved 1st Place prizes in my age group, High Achievement Awards, as well as the Best Club Girl Award. I was awarded 20 years membership in 2015.

As well as competing in the Plympton Halifax Seniors team at both Ballarat & Glen Waverley, I have competed for both a State Championship team in Ballarat & National Teams in 2003 & 2014. I have also enjoyed competing in Graceful Girls, Solos & Duos.

While competing I also demonstrated & assisted for the younger age groups as a cadet coach, & achieved my Level One Coaches badge in 2008. In my coaching journey, I have coached Sub-Juniors, Juniors & Senior teams.

I love our Club & the coaches I get to work with. Each lesson I learn something new & accomplish something different either as a competitor or coach. I have learnt many life skills & have made life-long friendships that I know I will cherish forever.

COURTNEY HILL

Tinies Navy Coach & Sub-Junior White Co-Coach

I started calisthenics at 3 years old at Vermont Calisthenics Club. In my first year as a Sub-Junior I joined Plympton Halifax when they amalgamated with Vermont. I was fortunate to be coached by many excellent coaches, including Josie Kerr, Hayley Edwards & Courtney Hill.

In addition to Club, I participated in two state teams, first as a Junior & then as an Intermediate. I enjoyed broadening my calisthenics horizons & the opportunity to improve with the extra practices. My favourite part about calisthenics is competing as a team, especially with my two younger sisters who have competed in the Seniors team with me.

My coaching journey began as a demonstrator for Sub-Juniors & Juniors & then progressed to achieving my level 1 coaching accreditation & began coaching Tinies.

I am looking forward to continuing to coaching the Tinies & Sub-Junior teams & continuing to work one on one with girls teaching solos, duos & graceful girls.

MEG ALLISON

Sparkles Co-Coach

At the age of 5, I began calisthenics at Plympton Halifax as a very quiet child who loved performing. 15 years later, and I am still competing as part of the Senior team at that same club with the same passion for performing and calisthenics.

I have been lucky enough to have been coached by some fantastic women, received many awards, compete in Ballarat and won several aggregates with my teams. I have also competed and placed in solo, duo, and graceful competitions.

In 2018, I assisted the sub-junior 3 & Sparkles teams and I received my Level 1 Coaching Accreditation. This year, I am excited to be working alongside Miss Amelia to teach the Sparkles and assist Miss Casey with the Junior 2 team.

I am so grateful for the skills that calisthenics has provided me with and the amazing friendships I have made. I hope to share my love for the sport with each girl I coach and assist them in developing lifelong skills.

PIP CANTY

Coach Coordinator & Junior 1 Coach

I began Calisthenics at the age of 6 at Plympton Methodist All Saints & continued competing at the same Club through its name changes to Plympton & Plympton Halifax for the next 21 years!

I began coaching in 1990. When Plympton & Halifax amalgamated I coached the Seniors, Intermediates & Junior teams. I have prevously been an Assistant Coach of the Senior National Team & Coach of an Intermediate State team. In 1998 I moved to Yorketown & started up my own Club. This was a challenging & rewarding experience. The Club grew quickly in numbers & I was coaching Tinies, Sub-Juniors, Juniors & Intermediates. I was awarded an SA Great Award for Services to Sport. In 2006 we moved back to Adelaide & I began coaching Juniors back at Plympton Halifax. The Juniors have competed in Ballarat 3 times & in 2006 they won the aggregate & all items. In 2015 & 2018 the team won the Reserve Aggregate.

Calisthenics has provided me with many great life skills, many friendships & memories & I am still as passionate about my teams & Plympton Halifax as the day I started.

LISA BEECKEN

Sub-Junior Navy Coach

I started Calisthenics aged 5 at Largs North Calisthenics Club. In 2008 I made the move to Plympton Halifax, the club welcomed me with open arms and I have loved every moment since. I have made lifelong friends and had opportunities that I am so grateful for. I have been fortunate enough to compete in Ballarat 9 times; 4 in a state team and 5 with the club.

2019 will be my 12th year here at Plympton Halifax all of which I have demonstrated for various teams after completing my Class Assistant and Cadet Course. I received my Level 1 coaching badge in 2015 which has led to me coaching non-competitive & competitive Tinies, as well as Sub juniors. In 2019 I am excited to be coaching the Sub Junior Navy Team while also being involved with the SA Sub Junior National Team for the 3rd consecutive year as an Assistant Coach.

I cannot wait to see what 2019 brings and what our club can achieve!

CAITLIN CARROLL

Sub Junior White Co-Coach & Junior 2 Coach

I started calisthenics at Plympton Halifax at 3 years old and have just celebrated my 20th year at the club. Throughout my years with the Club I have been lucky enough to be coached by some fantastic women, won several aggregates with my team mates and received many awards, including the Club Girl award in 2018.  I have been a state competitor on four occasions, competing both in Ballarat and Darwin, and had the opportunity to volunteer as a demonstrator.

I began my coaching journey from the desire to further involve myself and share my passion for the sport with the next generation. I began as an assistant for the sub-junior teams and in 2018 I assisted with Sub Junior 1, 2 & 3, as well as the Junior 2 team.

This year, I have been given the fantastic opportunity to coach teams on my own;  co-coaching Sub-Junior 3 with my sister Miss Meg and coaching Junior 2 with the assistance of Miss Pip. I am very excited for the year to come and can’t wait to see what we can achieve.

CASEY ALLISON

Sub-Junior Gold, Intermediate and Masters Coach

I started calisthenics with Plympton Halifax as a Tiny in 1989 at the age of 4. As a youngster I was a very enthusiastic participant of the sport often driving my mum crazy with impromptu performances to showcase my talents. Throughout my years with the Club I have been fortunate enough to achieve many awards, compete at the state level & volunteer as a demonstrator.

My desire to become Coach came from my passion for the sport. I began my coaching career as a Tinies coach in 2003 & since have coached Sub-Juniors, Intermediates & Seniors. This club & all my coaches have taught me so many things that have helped me in other areas of my life, such as co-ordination, discipline & confidence.

Outside of calisthenics I participate in other sports like netball, softball & baseball, & in each of these, I use the skills that callisthenics has taught me. I have made lifelong friends along the way & I can only hope that as a coach I am able to pass on some of the lessons & experiences that have given me so much joy over the years.

HAYLEY EDWARDS

Tinkerbells, Sparkles Co-Coach and Tinies Gold Coach

I started Calisthenics at Plympton Halifax at the age of three, dragged along by my mother who had previously competed for both Plympton & Halifax when she was younger. I fell in love with Calisthenics right from the start & throughout my years I have been fortunate enough to compete in Mt Gambier & Ballarat, each time creating unforgettable friends & life long memories.

My desire to become a Coach developed from my commitment to the sport as well as Plympton Halifax as a Club. In 2013 I received my life membership & in 2018, my 20 years award. I have also received many Coaches Awards & was honoured to receive the Club Girl award in 2014 & 2016.

Being a very shy child, I decided to start demonstrating for the Tinies team to help build my confidence. I ended up loving it so much that I demonstrated every Saturday morning for nine years before beginning coaching my own Tinies team in 2016, which I still love doing today!

AMELIA DELAINE

Coach Mentor

I began coaching at Valley View with my Auntie Bev Bahr. In 1986 I took over Plympton Calisthenics Club & began teaching the whole Club. Prior to the amalgamation of Plympton & Halifax I also coached at Halifax, Seacliff & Brighton. In 2006 I was fortunate to coach the Sub-Junior Championship team & over the years assisted Bev Bahr with many of her State teams. Much of my coaching has been influenced by two special people who have guided me along the way, Bev Bahr & Karen Hicks.

It has been a rewarding experience to see the girls I coached now become our talented & creative coaches at Plympton Halifax.

Calisthenics has provided me with many wonderful experiences & memories & I look forward to many more as I continue to coach & hope my daughter Zoe enjoys calisthenics as much as I do!
